Oswaldo Léon-Fariello is a US-Nicaragua binational who holds a M.A. in International Relations with focus on Comparative Government and Politics from St. John´s University N.Y. and Rome, Italy. He has worked as Knowledge Management and Communications Specialist for several United Nations Agencies in Vienna, Austria; Rome, Italy, and for the World Bank Group and PAHO/WHO in Washington D.C. His areas of communication expertise cover North America, Central Asia, the Middle East, Latin America and the Caribbean.

He is fluent and works in English, French, German, Italian, and his native Spanish. As part of his efforts to restore democracy and freedom in his native Nicaragua, since November 2018 he has been Public Relations Person for the Nicaragua Freedom Coalition in Washington D.C. Amongst his professional distinctions, in 1994 the Italian Government sponsored him as a Junior Professional Officer at the UN Office at Vienna, Austria.

The Vienna University granted him a scholarship to attend the 1993 International Summer School, in Salzburg, Austria. In 2018, USAID selected him to lead a strategic communication assignment for the Instituto Nicaragüense de Desarrollo (INDE) and Junior Achievement, in Nicaragua. Currently he specializes and is interested in multilateral cooperation program assignments with Brazil, Colombia, Dominican Republic and Haiti.
