NFC’s activities started informally in 2018 when a group of like-minded Nicaraguan expatriates living in Washington, D.C. gathered with diaspora leaders and interested individuals to discuss the ongoing sociopolitical crisis in Nicaragua. Recognizing that we are diverse, yet all strive for stability in Nicaragua, NFC was founded to provide a platform to exchange information, communicate and coordinate efforts, facilitate discussion, and foster constructive debate within the Nicaraguan diaspora and among the general public.
For each project, NFC recruits the participation of technical and education, human rights, and humanitarian experts, and other qualified and relevant individuals, including community and business leaders.
NFC supports Nicaraguans effected by the humanitarian crisis by fundraising through its own educational, and cultural events. Fundraising focuses on educational, human rights, and humanitarian issues to make them visible and voice the concerns of the diaspora.
